Lavendar Fields

I love this piece, it is one of my favorites necklaces. A friend called this "one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen." High praise indeed.

The focal bead is one of my own lampwork beads, a wave bead in a blend of purple, emerald, and some handmixed colours.

The necklace itself is a riot of swarovski crystals. Crystal, Lt Amethyst, Amethyst, Tanzanite, and Emerald and Chrysolite, some with an Aurora Borealis coating. Different styles of beads are also used: rounds, cubes, bicones, top-drilled bicones. Sterling round beads separate each crystal. The clasp and other accent findings are handmade sterling.

These all combine in a riot of color that is reminiscent of warm lavendar fields of Provence. Smell the warm hazy fields, hear the buzzing of the bees. Think of a late afternoon lunch, a glass of chilled white wine, slices of fine cheese and delicate crackers, as the warm air from the fields wafts the scent of heaven itself to you.
